The original Peoples Coffee espresso bar at 12A Constable Street, Newtown, opened in 2004 as a dedicated outlet for the then-fledgling roastery operating one street behind. Fair-trade and certified-organic beans sourced from cooperatives in Nicaragua, Ethiopia, Mexico, Guatemala and Colombia are roasted nearby and delivered fresh daily. The neighbourhood setting, knowledgeable baristas and commitment to ethical sourcing make this one of Wellington's most respected coffee institutions.
