Founded in 2006 by Joel Singer, Origin is widely credited with igniting Cape Town's third-wave coffee scene, training a generation of baristas from its brick warehouse on Hudson Street. The cafe stocks an ever-rotating selection of single-origin coffees prepared across multiple brew methods, and its alumni have opened some of the city's most respected roasteries.
