One of Tokyo's early independent specialty roasters, Coffee Amp has been operating from a quiet Look Street address near Shin-Koenji Station since 2010, roasting daily on an American Diedrich machine in full view of guests. Owners Hiroyuki and Yoko select seasonal light and medium-roast single-origins with close attention to farm relationships, and the open layout lets the roast aromas fill the small shop. A foundational pillar of the Koenji coffee scene that predates most of the neighborhood's current wave.
